Watching TV can actually teach you plenty of facts and make you realise what is happening in our world currently. Here is a list of 10 movies/series which hold a link with sustainability in its 3 pillars: economical, social and environmental.

1. Demain / Tomorrow

Launched in 2015 and directed by Cyril Dion & Mélanie Laurent, this movie presents great initiatives which have emerged around the world in the fields of Agriculture, Energy, Economie, Democracy and Education. A great message of hope and motivation lead initiative to hold a green impact on our earth.

2. A Plastic Ocean

The documentary is directed by Craig Leeson, a journalist and realised by an international team of researchers, scientists and a free diver Tanya Streeter and released in 2016. It explains the current plastic issue that is devastating our ocean. An interesting vision to really understand the consequences of a polluted oceans.

3. Minimalism: A Documentary about the Important Things

Launched in 2015 and directed by Matt D’Avella. In this documentary the concept of living a minimalist life and its benefits are explained. A great way to rethink our consumption model and our full of stuff lives. More is less.

Released in 2019, this is a great miniseries which explains how different animals’ ecosystems work. A very valuable way of understanding animals habitats and human impact. Incredible image quality.

Released in 2017, this documentary questions our daily food habits and diets and looks at the health impacts of what we eat. The documentary is a great way to reflect on our ideas of healthy/well-balanced diets that are often taken for granted.

6. Before the Flood

Made by National Geographic in 2016 and starring Leonardo DiCaprio, this documentary narrates Leonardo's trip to 5 continents and reveals how climate change destroyed our environment, as well as the actions that can be undertaken to protect animals and the ecosystems.

7. The True Cost

Released in 2017 by Andrew Morgan, this documentary focuses on the different consequences caused by fast fashion. Is it really cheaper? Do stylists and designers really want to draw for landfills?

8. Cowspiracy: The Sustainability Secret

Realised by Kip Andersen & Keegan Kuhn in 2014, this documentary details the impact of animal agriculture on the environment especially in terms of water and land usage.

Published in 2018 and starring James Cameron, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jackie Chan, this documentary explores the benefits of a plant-based diet for professional athletes and presents a scientific explanation for it.

Published in 2018 and featuring Will Smith, this series gathers astronauts, which definitely offers a different perspective of our earth, our home.
